The SouthernCalifornia Chapter
The Southern California Chapter of Germans from Russia is formed of people who are descended from Germans who had migrated to Russia and thence to the western hemisphere. Members of the Southern California Chapter belong to the Germans from Russia Heritage Society (GRHS) and/or to the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia (AHSGR). You do not have to be a member of both organizations, but you must belong to one or the other.
We research our heritage and find that the camaraderie and assistance available in a group setting helps us in our quest. The chapter also invites interested friends.
The Chapter publishes newsletters and has luncheon meetings throughout the year. At these meetings speakers are scheduled who present many aspects of genealogical pursuits specifically related to our Germans from Russia heritage.
Meetings are held quarterly on the 3rd Saturday of February, May, September and December.
AHSGR
The American Historical Society of Germans from Russia (AHSGR) is an international organization dedicated to the discovery, collection, preservation, and dissemination of information related to the history, cultural heritage and genealogy of Germanic settlers in the Russian Empire and their descendants. We have the largest repository of information on Germans from Russia in the Western Hemisphere. All German Russian settlement regions are represented in our library and museum collections in Lincoln, NE.

GRHS
The Germans from Russian Historical Society (GRHS) collects, lists, and catalogues published materials and personal documents that tell of the European migrations and exodus to the United States and Canada and also of the pioneer life on the plains. These materials can be read and researched in our library and International Headquarters in Bismarck, ND. This library contains many books and magazines dealing with our ancestors.
